You must fast after 12 midnight the night before your pre-testing.

****PLEASE NOTE: If your procedure is at Kidney Stone Center, someone from that facility will contact you to schedule your pre-admission testing****

IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL CONDITION, PLEASE BE SURE TO OBTAIN CLEARENCE FOR YOUR PROCEDURE FROM THE DOCTOR (FAMILY DOCTOR, CARDIOLOGIST, PULMONOLOGIST, ETC.)

 

****DO NOT TAKE ANY ASPIRIN, ASPIRIN PRODUCTS OR BLOOD THINNERS

(PLAVIX, COUMADIN, W ARFARIN, ETC.) FOR ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE. ****

Please note that some herbal medications and vitamins have blood-thinning properties in

them, if you are unsure if a medication you are taking contains these properties; please contact our office or your pharmacist.

THE DAY BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE

Eat lightly the day before your procedure, fruits, Jell-0, juice, etc. No alcoholic, carbonated or

caffeinated beverages. No smokinging to eat or drink after 12 midnight!!! If you take medication regularly in the morning,

Nothplease ask the doctor or nurse which medications you should take.

THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE

NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK!!! If Instructed to take medication, take only small sips of water, just enough to get the medication down and inform the facility of when and what you took.

 

If you are having any type of Kidney procedure, you MUST bring in your films with you to the procedure. IF the films are not available, the procedure will be cancelled.

 

Someone must drive you home from the procedure. Please contact our office with any questions.
